WWE’s boom period appears to be “definitely cooling off” as advance ticket sales are declining
WWE’s upcoming SmackDown event for December 19th 2025 at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeing a noticeable decline in advance ticket sales compared to SmackDown on June 20th at the same venue. At roughly the same point before each event (40–41 days out), tickets distributed dropped from 8,954 to 1,397 — an 84% decrease. According to @WrestleTix, WWE’s average attendance for 2025 events is around 10,487 tickets.
Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.com previously reported that the average ticket prices for WWE’s North American television events (RAW and SmackDown) have nearly doubled since the TKO merger in September 2023. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, who noted in his newsletter that WWE’s boom period is “definitely cooling off,” stated the following about the situation…
“Business wise this isn’t bad because ticket prices have doubled in recent years and in a lot of places the expensive tickets go first so gates are likely fine in most cities and excellent in a few. But these numbers show that the boom itself is over. So expect some big creative moves.”
