AJ Styles plans to “definitely retire” in 2026 but will “probably” be at WrestleMania 42

WWE star AJ Styles did an interview with Tokyo Sports and here are the highlights…

WWE’s next trip to Japan: “I’m really excited. This will probably be my last match in Japan, so I’m looking forward to it. I’m planning to retire soon, and I may not get the chance to return to Japan before then.”

When he’ll be retiring: “I’ll probably appear at WrestleMania [42], but that’s not finalized yet. The details are undecided, but what is certain is that I’ll retire next year. I don’t want fans to see me when I’m no longer AJ Styles. That’s the biggest reason. I’ve decided to retire before my body breaks down.”

Life after wrestling: “I haven’t decided yet, but I’ll probably keep working with WWE. Helping younger talent develop into main roster stars might be something I’d like to do. But for now, I just don’t know.”
