Michael Cole clarifies when WWE contracted Brock Lesnar about returning to the company
As seen during the 2025 WWE SummerSlam Sunday PLE, Brock Lesnar made his surprise return to WWE in his first appearance since SummerSlam 2023. Lesnar attacked John Cena with an F5 to end the show.
During the August 4th 2025 edition of RAW, Michael Cole said the following about Lesnar’s return…
“Earlier today, I had the opportunity to sit down with WWE President Nick Khan and WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque. And I asked them a simple question: ‘When was it determined that Brock Lesnar would return to WWE?’ They told me they reached out to Brock a number of weeks ago and said, ‘We believe it’s time for you to come home.’ Brock Lesnar said ‘Let’s do it’ and here we are.”
Cena is scheduled to address Lesnar this coming Friday on SmackDown.
Michael Cole says he asked Nick Khan and Triple H when it was determined to bring Brock Lesnar back.
