WWE reportedly planning a Queen of the Ring tournament

It is being reporting by WrestlingInc.com that WWE is planning to do a first-ever “Queen of the Ring” tournament this year. The site noted the following…

“The tentative plan is for the event to be a main roster show airing on Peacock. It’s not known when the event will take place.”

During an interview with Prosieben MAXX on Instagram in late 2020, Sasha Banks was hopeful that WWE would produce an all-women’s event in 2021…

“A Queen of the Ring tournament on a whole pay-per-view for itself would be really freakin’ cool. But I’ve been waiting for Evolution 2 for a very long time. So maybe we can do that first, and maybe we can [start matches] at Evolution 2 for the Queen of the Ring tournament. Maybe something like that can happen.” (quote courtesy of WrestleTalk.com)

It was recently noted that there was talk of WWE bringing back the King of the Ring tournament.
