AEW personality addresses the “bitching & crying” from fans about Big Boom A.J. having a match

Just prior to the 2024 AEW Full Gear PPV event, AEW announcer/personality Taz addressed fan criticism of internet star Big Boom A.J. from The Costco Guys having a match on the Full Gear buy-in show…

“It’s still amazes me as the build towards tonight’s #AEWFullGear ppv show… some hardcore fans are still confused or bitching & crying moaning. that the Costco guy has a match. Wake up… This guy has a huge reach which basically means he has a massive following of millions. Fresh eyes folks!!! it’s all about the casuals… it’s smart business. It’s not about ‘bangers’.”

Here was an exchange Taz had with a user…

Fan: “Maybe it’s more bc the storylines have been bad and the build/lead up to the ppv is weak. Costco guys on the pre show to draw eyes to the product is a business plus. The real complaints should be the build up of the card itself.”

Taz: “There’s always complaints… You’re saying the ‘real complaints should be…’…..People complain nonstop on here… BECAUSE THEY CAN, ITS EASY. Complaining about everything, passing judgement on everyone. It’s exhausting and that’s why people are leaving this app in droves. Toxic.”

Fan: “So when the reach he has doesnt effect AEW what will the excuse be then?”

Taz: “I’m not making an excuse at all. I’m explaining why this is happening… Not anyone told me that… Just my observation & opinion… which my opinion has been built over a lot of years… I think that’s called an educated opinion.”
