Cody Rhodes contract news heading into WWE Wrestlemania 40 PLE

It was previously reported that Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes is said to be a long-term direction for WWE and a rematch at Wrestlemania 40 is a strong possibility. Cody noted in 2022 that he signed a “multi-year” contract with WWE but the exact duration of his deal wasn’t disclosed. In regards to Cody’s future with WWE, Fightful Select noted the following…

“Sources have confirmed to Fightful that WWE has been engaged in talks with Cody Rhodes about a multi-year contract extension. Based on what we’re told, WWE is trying to lock him down long term.”

It was added that re-signing Cody has been a priority since the WWE/UFC merger into TKO.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com recently noted that WWE is looking at re-signing talent to longtime deals with “greatly increased compensation” because they don’t want free agents right now. Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio have all reportedly signed new contracts with WWE over the past few months.
