What is being said about the possibility of CM Punk having a match against Steve Austin in WWE

As seen during the November 27th 2023 edition of WWE RAW, CM Punk cut his first promo since returning to the company at Survivor Series and said that “almost everyone” was happy to see him back.

According to Fightful Select, there are several people within WWE that are pushing for the possibility of Punk having a “dream” match against Steve Austin now that Punk has returned to the company. Punk himself has reportedly even had discussions about the possibility.

Fightful noted the following…

“As of now, we’re told many in WWE are hopeful and even optimistic that the match could finally be put together. One source in the company had indicated that many ideas have already been floated between CM Punk and WWE.”

It’s unknown how far any of the talks or ideas have progressed but an “ideal” scenario would be Punk traveling to discuss things with Austin. It’s believed that the two have stayed in contract over the years.
