Backstage news regarding The Usos vs. RK-Bro unification match being changed

As seen during the April 29th 2022 edition of WWE Smackdown, The Usos vs. RK-Bro tag-team title unification match for Wrestlemania Backlash was changed to a six-man match with Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre being added to the mix.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, there was never a plan to do a unification match. Meltzer noted that the six-man match was always the direction and it wasn’t a matter of plans being changed. Meltzer wrote the following…

“As far as if they will do the unification match, the short answer is it’s up to Vince McMahon. The belief is that it’s a bad idea since they are not merging brands.”

Meltzer added that there is no plan to follow up on a tag team unification match at this time.
