Wrestle Review: Weekly Wrap-up (Crown Jewel, Bound For Glory)
I finally got to watch Crown Jewel Wednesday night and really enjoyed it. Seth and Edge in the cell was a perfect ending of this rivalry. Well, until their next match. You know any “final” in wrestling isn’t usually a final. I’m glad Woods won King of The Ring. I’m guessing this leads to a big singles run(and hopefully gold) for Woods. Crown Jewel didn’t see a WWE or Universal title change but Smackdown did see Brock Lesnar demolish Adam Pearce after getting “suspended indefinitely”. That is, I’m guessing, WWE’s way of moving onto the next one. Although, the next to lose to Reigns usually is revealed soon after he beats a guy. That didn’t happen Thursday or Friday. Obviously, Reigns will face Big E at Survivor Series, assuming they do brand vs brand again. In that case, I don’t expect a Universal title match until January-since there will be no December event this year(I’ve heard).
What was the purpose of that Becky and Charlotte title swap segment Friday night? It was SO awkward! It was reported yesterday that Charlotte Flair was escorted out of the building after Smackdown. I knew that segment with her and Becky looked contentious. Unless Ashley is so good of an actress that this whole thing is just a show for the ‘net. I doubt that, though.
Andrade vs Pac Friday was incredible! What about what transpired after the match? Are Black and Andrade becoming a unit? Then Cody comes out to assist Pac? Though I think it was more of Cody wanting to get at Black instead of helping Pac. That brings us to Dynamite and Cody/Black III.
Cody beat Black to make the series 2-1 in favor of Black. Do we get match 4 at Full Gear in a few weeks? Speaking of Full Gear, we got the word that Britt Baker would defend the women’s title against Tay Conti. We get Eddie Kingston vs Bryan Danielson in the first AEW Eliminator semifinal Friday on Rampage, This coming week we get Bobby Fish vs CM Punk. What a match that should be! Dark Order vs Elite, Sammy Guevara defending the TNT championship against Ethan Page-if Page wins, Sammy must leave Inner Circle. If Sammy wins, it’s Inner Circle vs Top Team at Full Gear. Sammy’s winning, I’m thinking. Serena Deeb will face Shida in the first round of the TBS Championship tournament.
Saturday night was Impact’s Bound For Glory. fans were expecting perhaps a Braun Stroman appearance. Maybe Buddy Mathews. Fans got…..KISS Demon? I would like to congratulate The Inspiration on becoming the Knockouts Tag Champs. Jordynne Grace became the first-ever Digital Media Champion. I’m so far behind on Impact that I admit to not knowing what this is. The Inspiration debut and become the Knockouts tag champs. Trey Miguel is the new X Division champ. So all 3 former Rascal members are doing well. Impact pulling the Roman Reigns trick having Rhino show up mid-match as he and Heath beat Violent By Design to become tag champs. Moose eliminated Matt Cardona to win thhe Call Your Shot Gauntlet. The Good Brothers retained the tag titles. Mickie James overcomes Deonna Purrazzo to win the Knockouts Championship. Josh Alexander becomes the new Impact World Champion by making Christian tap. Moose immediately spears Alexander and pins him to become the new Impact World Champion!
