Wrestle Review/Hell In A Cell preview by: Andy Sullivan

I’ll get to Raw Hell In a Cell in a bit. First, other news and notes. Well, there is ONE Smackdown match. First, let’s talk CM Punk. Last weekend at Double Or Nothing, he beat Hangman Page for the AEW Championship. Five days later, he relinquishes the title because he needs surgery. Well, sort of. The commentary team didn’t exactly do a great job of explaining it. They did explain there will be a battle royal to begin Dynamite with the winner facing #1 contender Jon Moxley for a shot at the interim AEW Championship at Forbidden Door. I understand why they’re doing the interim title thing. That way, when Punk does return, he likely faces the interim champion in a ladder match to determine the true champion. Also Wednesday, Hangman Page faces David Finlay. I’d say this kicks off Page’s decent into being a heel.

AEW Grand Slam will return to Arthur Ashe Stadium, reportedly this September. We already have Blood & Guts coming to Dynamite in a few weeks. Looks like Jericho Appreciation Society vs Mox, Kingston, Danielson, Santana and Ortiz in a rematch from Double Or Nothing will happen at the event. If it’s anything as wild as the first one, it should be insane.

I think WWE will abolish the women’s tag team championships. Plans for a tournament have apparently been scrapped. I’m guessing that, by 2023, the titles will be retired. Lacey Evans was supposed to make her in-ring return Monday. She was nowhere to be found. She’s teased to be on Raw one week and Smackdown the next. Typical WWE booking. Now onto Hell In a Cell.

The no holds barred match between Madcap Moss and Happy Corbin is the lone Smackdown match on this card. I think since Corbin put Moss out for a few weeks after the chair to neck incident, Moss should win. Especially since he looks to be a bit more serious now.

Kevin Owens vs Ezekiel is one match I really don’t care about. Zeke will win.

Judgement Day will defeat AJ Styles, Finn Balor and Liv Morgan. I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if Balor turned and joined Judgement Day.

Bobby Lashley will face Omos and MVP in a handicap match. I say Lashley pins MVP.

United States Champion Theory will successfully defend against Mustafa Ali. I see Miz interfering on Theory’s behalf.

Bianca Belair defends the Raw women’s championship in a triple threat against Becky Lynch and Asuka in what should be a good match. Does a crazed Becky regain the title? I think it’d be a pretty good story if they went that route.

The lone Hell In a Cell match on the card is the third installment of Seth Rollins vs Cody Rhodes, which also happens to be the main event. Cody won at Mania as well as Backlash. This is the kind of match that is worthy of the cell-a real ongoing feud that is needing a conclusion. I actually expect Cody to make it a clean sweep Sunday. If he’s going to suffer his first loss in his return to WWE against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, he needs to go into the match undefeated. That way Reigns will look even stronger, which is something WWE has done very well.  As always, check out my podcast Blendertainment at :
