Andy Sullivan’s preview for the AEW All Out 2021 PPV

Before I get started on my AEW All Out preview, I must mention the tragic passing of Shannon Sprull aka Daffney Unger. Someone on twitter had mentioned she was on IG Live and it was disturbing. I foolishly went to look and got off the stream as soon as I got on. It shook me to my core and I wasn’t ok even the next day. She was 46 years old. #RIP

AEW All Out is tomorrow! Even though all titles are on the line, let’s be honest, everyone wants to see CM Punk’s return to the wrestling ring after 7 years away. First, though, we have the buy-in with Orange Cassidy, Wheeler Yuta, Jurassic Express and Chuck Taylor vs Matt Hardy, Private Party, Jack Evans and Angelico in one Cassidy and crew should win. At this point in his career, shouldn’t Matt Hardy be elevating young talent?

Featuring 21 combatants, the Women’s Casino Battle Royal will decide the next challenger to either Britt Baker or Kris Statlander’s women’s championship. I’m thinking we see some debuts at the ppv and the first of which comes in this match. Ruby Soho(former Ruby Riot) has been teased to make her AEW debut at All Out. I think she not only makes her debut but wins this match.

After what happened this past week with the Gunn Club turning on Paul Wight and doing a number on him, I wonder if we’ll have Paul Wight vs QT Marshall. I don’t think we need it, honestly. If we do have it, I think QT gets the win thanks to his crew and the Gunn Club.

I’m not familiar with Satoshi Kojima so I’m looking forward to seeing him face Jon Moxley. I’m sure Kojima will be motivated and excited to have a match on such a big stage. Mox has been a champion in IWGP so I expect this one to be a banger! AEW has teased a match with Jon and Tanahashi, which I would love to see. So I’m thinking Jon wins and it’s “who’s next”. Hey, I think somebody else says that catchphrase. Oh well.

Chris Jericho vs MJF also happens Sunday. It’s a big one because, as stipulated by Chris himself. if he can’t beat MJF, he will never wrestle in AEW again. Listen, Fozzy is touring so I originally thought MJF might take this. However, MJF has surprisingly had Chris’ number. Shouldn’t Chris win at least once? Since he finally got his rematch, he’s got to win I’m thinking. But it depends on what Jericho wants to do with his future.

Miro defends the TNT Championship against Eddie Kingston. I’d love to see Eddie win but I don’t think it happens. Eddie doesn’t need a title to be over. Also, Miro is on an undefeated roll since he came to AEW and I don’t think Kingston is the one to end said streak.

Kris Statlander challenges Britt Baker for the women’s championship. This is another one where I see the champion retaining. It’ll be a solid match but I just don’t see Kris going over.

Here’s your title change, fans. The Lucha Bros. will win the tag team titles in a cage match against The Young Bucks. If the Bucks, who have had an incredible run since turning heel, are the best tag team in AEW, Penta and Rey Fenix aren’t too far behind. If this was a regular match, the Bucks would win because of interference from The Elite. Even last night, I was undecided. I told my friend Chris I doubt there are any title changes this weekend. Then I got to thinking, it’s about time The Elite lost SOMETHING. Yes, Kenny lost the Impact title to Christian but I’m talking an in-company title. And it’s time to the Lucha Brothers.

Kenny Omega vs Christian Cage for the AEW Championship was never in question, even before Kenny lost the Impact title to Christian. When that happened, it was a mortal lock that Kenny would retain at All Out. I’m not saying it won’t be a good match. It will. Both these guys bring it every time. But unlike the tag match, this isn’t in a cage. When it looks like Christian might win, here come the Elite. A little while later, you’ll see Kenny’s hand raised.

What is bigger then a world championship? CM Punk’s return to the ring after almost a decade away, that’s what. He can’t lose his first match back. I love Darby but he’s going down on this night. Imagine the pop when Punk comes to the ring. Imagine the pop when the stare-down happens. The first lock-up, the GTS, the 1-2-3. I’m pumped for this match! Quite frankly, I’m pumped for the entire card! Everyone have fun watching All Out!
