WWE potentially running an event against AEW at the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia, PA
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that WWE has booked an event at the 2300 Arena (formerly the ECW Arena) in Philadelphia, PA. Meltzer stated the following…
“While not confirmed, the belief is that it will be on 11/6, which would be the NXT TV tapings on a Wednesday, the day after the election. The fact there will be a show has been confirmed by many, just not the date.”
With WWE NXT moving to an unfamiliar night to avoid the United States Presidential election coverage, the belief is that the show will be loaded to compete against AEW Dynamite. Meltzer added that “It makes sense the idea of NXT from the ECW Arena for the first time will get enough buzz to help grow the audience in the attempt to beat AEW.”
