* WWE announcers were reportedly instructed to not say Rick Steiner’s name during his son Bron Breakker (Bronson Rechsteiner)’s debut match with Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com saying the following…
“The guys were told they could not say Rick Steiner, so Vic Joseph decided to be cute and he wasn’t banned from saying ‘Dog-Faced Gremlin’. But those announcers were absolutely told, ‘You cannot mention (Rick Steiner)’.” (quote courtesy of WrestleTalk.com)
As to why the name change was made from Rex Steiner, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com wrote that it was “to create and own the trademarks of all their talents’ ring names as the likely reason for the switch.”
* Austin Theory has been working main roster dark matches in recent months and there has been speculation about his moving to RAW or Smackdown from NXT. Theory wrote the following message on Twitter which has fueled the speculation…
