WWE documentary reveals multiple match ideas that were scrapped from WrestleMania 41

In the trailer for WWE’s upcoming Unreal series on Netflix, a whiteboard in the writer’s room displayed several proposed matches for WrestleMania 41. The exact date of the video clip is unknown but here is a list of the match ideas that were either changed or scrapped from the final card…

World Heavyweight Championship – CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins vs. Gunther
Women’s World Championship – Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair
WWE Women’s Championship – Jade Cargill vs. Nia Jax
Wyatt Sicks vs. Judgment Day
Women’s Tag – Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch vs. Iyo Sky & Asuka
Bad Bunny vs. Dominik Mysterio
Bron Breakker vs. Drew McIntyre

Ibou of @SelfMadePW noted the following about the card’s development…

“There is overlap with CM Punk and Rollins’ names on two different matchups. This is because WWE had numerous WrestleMania cards on hand until the last one was finalized during the early part of the European tour.

I had noted in December that Triple H had numerous cards for WrestleMania, and that it was a very politically charged period for the company as top stars were circling and angling for their spots.”

In regards to Charlotte and Becky being a team, PWInsider.com noted that “the pitch would have seen them unite around The Royal Rumble and then face Iyo Sky and Asuka around WrestleMania, but plans eventually changed.”
