Why Dave Batista isn’t expected to be inducted into the 2023 WWE Hall of Fame class

Dave Batista was supposed to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020 but the ceremony ended up being canceled due to Covid-19. In 2021, Batista tweeted that he wasn’t able to be inducted “due to previous obligations” but added that the company would induct him in a future year. Batista’s induction was once again delayed in 2022.

It looks like Batista’s Hall of Fame induction has been delayed yet again. With Rey Mysterio being the 2023 HOF headliner, Batista is not expected to be inducted this year. According to PWInsiderElite.com, the belief is that Batista is unavailable due to movie commitments and will still be filming his latest project “My Spy” in South Africa during Wrestlemania week.

While not confirmed, the situation with Batista could explain why WWE waited to start making Hall of Fame announcements. In early February of 2023, Batista noted to Comicbook.com that he was “trying” to make the induction happen and had spoken with Triple H.

According to Fightful.com, the working plan was for this year’s class to be “way smaller” than in previous years. The Great Muta has officially been announced for the 2023 HOF class and Stacy Keibler is rumored to be another inductee.
