When MJF could be potentially be making his return to AEW television
As seen during the 2023 AEW Worlds End PPV event, Samoa Joe defeated MJF to become the new world champion and MJF has not appeared on AEW television since the PPV. In March, MJF’s shoulder injury was said to have been “significant” and his recovery had reportedly been “progressing slower” than what was anticipated.
According to Fightful.com, there have been discussions in regards to MJF making an on-screen return to AEW. Sources within AEW expect MJF to be back sooner than later and there is a belief that he could return to AEW television by the 2024 Forbidden Door PPV event in New York if not sooner.
In regards to MJF’s contract, he was said to have received a contract extension with AEW at some point following the 2022 Double or Nothing PPV event. While MJF has not confirmed his status, he reportedly remains under contract for quite some time and is among the highest paid wrestlers in AEW as per the deal.
