What WWE reportedly had planned for the women’s title matches at Wrestlemania 38

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks for the Smackdown women’s title and Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair for the RAW women’s title were planned for Wrestlemania 38.

Sasha is currently out of action after suffering a bruised calcaneus bone but is expected back in time for Wrestlemania. However, Meltzer noted that WWE could possibly move in a different direction. Meltzer added that “there is no obvious direction because nobody else on the Smackdown side has been pushed big.”

In regards to Bayley returning from reconstructive surgery at the Royal Rumble, Meltzer wrote that it’s “not impossible for her to be a surprise in the match but the time frame from surgery would make that difficult.” Bayley returning in March is said to be more likely.

RAW’s Bianca Belair is the early betting odds favorite to win the women’s Rumble match and Meltzer speculated that someone could eliminate Charlotte (who is in the match) to plant the seeds for the Smackdown women’s title match at Wrestlemania.
