What is being said about why Finn Balor has been moved from WWE RAW to SmackDown
During the WWE RAW commercial break on June 1st 2026, Byron Saxton announced to the international broadcast viewers that Finn Balor has been “traded” to SmackDown. Balor is a participant in the 2026 King of the Ring tournament.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com addressed the reason for Balor’s move…
“I haven’t heard anything about a draft.
I think they just moved him. The idea was to get him away from Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh. He beat JD, and if he stays on RAW, theoretically, how does he not keep working with those guys?
They just figured, ‘We’re done. We’re done with Finn Balor doing that,’ and they wanted to give him a fresh start.
That’s kind of what they do a lot of the time. They run a feud, it’s over, and the nature of the feud is that they just don’t want those guys interacting anymore.”
