What is being said about social media photo of AEW star Rey Fenix in a straight jacket

It was reported in August of 2024 that sources in AEW expected The Lucha Brothers (Penta and Rey Fenix) to leave the company when their contracts expired with the belief being that they would join WWE. However, it was later stated that AEW President Tony Khan decided to “tack on injury time” to Fenix’s contract.

Following the debut of Penta in WWE, Fenix published a photo of himself on social media in a straight jacket which he ended up deleting. Fans have used the caption “Khantanamo Bay” for the photo and Ibou of WrestlePurists.com wrote the following via Twitter/X…

“They won’t let him wrestle on any of the TV, they won’t let him out of the deal, and they won’t allow him to get direct merch residuals because they took his merchandise off their website. You can’t get mad at the guy for memeing through it, he’s in a super shitty spot.”
