What is being said about Rey Mysterio retirement rumors heading into WWE Wrestlemania 39

In early 2022, Rey Mysterio commented on how he wants to have “a Wrestlemania moment” with his son before he retires from the ring. With Rey vs. Dominik Mysterio expected for Wrestlemania 39, there have been rumors and speculation about the event potentially being Rey’s final match. Twitter account @WrestleVotes noted the following to GiveMeSport.com in regards to the matter…

“At one point, it was discussed that Rey Mysterio was going to retire at Wrestlemania. But I don’t think next weekend is his last match, regardless of the Hall of Fame. This storyline kind of reinvigorated him a little bit. So I don’t know if he agreed to do another full year, let’s say and retire at [Wrestlemania] 40. I don’t know if he’s going to drag this out with Dom until they feel like it’s complete.”
