What is being said about Matt Riddle’s future after being released from WWE

Last week, multiple WWE superstars were released from the company following Endeavor’s acquisition including Matt Riddle. In regards to Riddle’s future, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following…

“Since the word last week of his being let go, there has been interest by a number of companies in both pro wrestling and MMA. Most pro wrestling companies of any size immediately expressed interest, and in MMA, both PFL and Bare Knuckle Fighting had expressed interest due to his name value from WWE and the fact he was a decent MMA fighter.”

Meltzer also stated that Riddle would be a “no-brainer” for AEW minus the baggage and bad publicity the company might receive. Meltzer heard people say that AEW “doesn’t need new talent that can’t be top guys” since the roster is already large enough as it is.

It’s believed that Impact Wrestling is interested in Riddle. During the Les Anti-Pods de la Lutte podcast, Impact Wrestling’s PCO noted that “there were names mentioned by people close to the office” and “the names that were circulating were Riddle, [Dolph] Ziggler and Mustafa Ali.”
