On Friday, it was announced that multiple wrestlers were parting ways with WWE including Braun Strowman and Shayna Baszler. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that a factor in Strowman’s departure was similar to his 2021 release…

“He is the one that, the salary was high. One person told me that they felt he was paid more than how they were using him I guess is the best way to put it, but salary played a part in this. The reality of Braun Strowman is, ever since he had that hamstring injury, he’s never been the same.”

Following the news of him leaving WWE, Strowman posted a picture of his yacht and wrote “I might just retire here!!!!!”
