What happened during the AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door 2022 Buy-In show
Here were the highlights from the AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door 2022 Buy-In show…
* NJPW’s Takuro Shibata did ring announcing along with Justin Roberts. It was announced that referees would be announced from both promotions during the show.
* Excalibur, Taz, and NJPW’s Kevin Kelly did commentary.
* Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi defeated QT Marshall and Aaron Solo. Goto and Yoshi-Hashi double teamed Solo prior to Goto pinning Solo for the win.
* Lance Archer defeated Nick Comoroto. Comoroto got in some offense but Archer eventually got the victory with the Blackout.
* Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee vs. El Desperado vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru. At one point, Kanemaru spit whiskey in the eyes of Lee but Lee kicked out. Lee was able to pin Kanemaru after Swerve took out Desperado with a double foot stomp to the outside of the ring.
After the match, Ricky Starks and Powerhobbs cut a promo on Lee and Swerve.
* Gunn Club and Max Caster vs. Yuya Uemura, Alex Coughlin, The DKC, and Kevin Knight. During his rap promo, Caster talked about how they were going to put four more guys on the injury list. Danhausen had the “Ass Boys” song play which led to Austin and Colten running to the backstage area. Despite being outnumbered, Billy Gunn hit the fameasser on DKC and then Caster hit the mic drop to score the victory.
