Vince McMahon reportedly not backstage at the 4/7/23 edition of WWE Smackdown
As previously noted, Vince McMahon was reportedly “heavily involved” with the 2023 RAW after Wrestlemania 39 following the announcement of WWE being sold to Endeavor. McMahon was said to have made last-minute changes that caused a “huge negative shift in morale” during the broadcast.
According to PWInsiderElite.com, Vince McMahon was not backstage at the April 7th 2023 edition of WWE Smackdown in Portland, OR. It was said that McMahon reviewed creative plans remotely and there were “minor changes” made to the original script. The backstage morale at Smackdown was reportedly better than it was on Monday.
Steve Carrier of RingsideNews.com was told that McMahon “has not met with writers and he’s not ‘undercutting’ Triple H.” Wade Keller of PWTorch.com noted that “many were hoping” McMahon was only at RAW due to him being in Los Angeles for Wrestlemania 39 and dealing with the WWE sale.
A lot of fans are very scared about SmackDown, but were were told that "Vince really got his hands deep into the Monday show, and that was Monday."
