Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com wrote the following about the report…
“I’ve yet to be able to get it confirmed, but was told by another source it’s ‘likely true.'”
Sapp also commented on Shane’s role in the putting together the Rumble match…
“Though he wasn’t listed as a producer internally for the Royal Rumble, he helped put the match together, which he’s done before in the past. We’re told he was integral in a lot of changes in a match that was already heavily changing as is.”

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com wrote the following regarding Shane…
“The feeling among some is that Shane is taking the brunt of the heat for the poor reception to the Men’s Rumble match and that when the heat for that blows over, he’ll eventually return in some form down the line.”
Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast wrote the following regarding Shane…
“Few notes from source regarding Shane and the Rumble. There were numerous changes to what number Bad Bunny would be. This was a cause for concern and people within WWE were upset. WWE doesn’t want to come off negatively with such a major outside star.”
