Update on Rey Fenix’s status with AEW amidst absence from television since October of 2023

As seen during the October 10th 2023 edition of AEW Dynamite, Rey Fenix lost the International title to Orange Cassidy in a match that was originally supposed to be Fenix vs. Jon Moxley. Fenix has not wrestled since that time.

During an interview with Denise Salcedo, Fenix noted that he has been recovering from “an old injury” that was bothering him…

“We are working on the recovery. It’s one of my, I think it’s the worst injury [of my career]. But I’m taking my time. I’m doing a good job in my recovery. I put everything with the doctors. I’m following the doctor’s line. I’m doing my best. And I think I can’t talk so much about… Soon, I will be in the ring, doing lucha libre, doing the thing that makes me so happy.” (quote courtesy of WrestlingNews.co)
