Update on MJF being injured and his status for the 2023 AEW Worlds End PPV event
It was previously reported that MJF was “legitimately pretty beat up” from his world title match against Jay White at the 2023 AEW Full Gear PPV event. This week, MJF confirmed that he’s injured in a now-deleted message via Twitter/X but said he will still be defending his world title at the 2023 Worlds End PPV. MJF wrote the following…
“I just got an MRI. I tore my labrum in my left shoulder. I’ll be defending my title at Worlds End. I believe in AEW.”
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided more details about the injury…
“The swelling is down on his hip, but the pain is not down, he’s hurting on the hip. Obviously the shoulder is I guess the more serious of the two. He’s not gonna have surgery. Rehab and stem cell treatment. It’s a pretty big tear, he had this exact tear before the Jungle Boy PPV match, the one where they really killed it. He had the same tear, but this tear is worse than that one. So it’s a pretty big tear.” (quote courtesy of WrestlePurists.com)
