Update on Kenny Omega’s contractual status with AEW amidst WWE rumors
It was previously reported that WWE is interested in signing Kenny Omega away from AEW. In regards to Omega’s contractual status with AEW, the original expiration date was believed to have been in early 2023. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that Omega had a four-year deal with a no option clause to add time and he also stated the following…
“His contract does allow AEW to extend it for the time he was out injured, which has happened. He was out nine months so that would be a maximum of November but the extended time frame hasn’t been finalized as far as how long.”
According to Meltzer, the feeling is that Omega and the Young Bucks “have a good shot of sticking together” as agent Barry Bloom has been working with Omega and is expected to handle the Young Bucks’ contract by the end of 2023.
