Update on John Laurinaitis’ status with WWE as head of talent relations
As previously reported via wsj.com, WWE board members are “investigating a secret $3 million settlement that longtime chief executive Vince McMahon agreed to pay to a departing employee with whom he allegedly had an affair, according to documents and people familiar with the board inquiry.” In an e-mail, it was alleged that Vince “gave her like a toy” to head of talent relations John Laurinaitis.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted that Laurinaitis was not backstage at WWE RAW this week but is still with the company. However, Bruce Prichard is stepping in as the interim head of talent relations for the time being. Johnson wrote the following…
“WWE also informed talents that “pending the conclusion of our Board of Directors’ internal investigation’ John Laurinaitis (who has not been on the road since the investigation was publicly revealed) has been placed on ‘administrative leave.’ The memo promised Prichard would provide a ‘seamless transition.'”
According to Fightful.com, talent in WWE have expressed concern about Prichard handling two roles as both head of creative and head of talent relations.
