Update on Drew McIntyre signing a new WWE contract and news on his immediate future

Over the weekend, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson publicly announced that Drew McIntyre signed a new WWE contract. In regards to McIntyre coming to terms with WWE for a new deal, Fightful Select noted the following…

“WWE finally reached out to extend Drew McIntyre’s deal in March, and it was finalized recently. We’re told that there was a lot of back and forth and McIntyre was happy with the outcome and how it affects his family Fightful is told it is a multi-year, big money deal as many of the new contracts will be.”

As for McIntyre’s immediate future, PWInsider.com stated the following…

“Mcintyre will not be back on TV immediately as he is still recovering from his badly hyperextended elbow. He received a lot of respect from WWE for working through the issue over the course of last week’s UK Tour.”
