Update on Danhausen’s status with AEW amid reports of WWE having “major interest” in him

Danhausen has not wrestled in AEW since the 2023 Worlds End PPV event. It was reported earlier in 2025 that WWE had “major interest” in him once his contract expired.

In an update, Fightful.com noted that Danhausen’s original contract with AEW was scheduled to expire on July 1st. However, due to him being out of action as a result of injuries, several months were added to the deal. His contract is now expected to expire “well into 2026.”

According to Fightful, it’s believed that Danhausen “had requested they not pick up the option, and that he was ready to leave the company.” It is being said that there have been “no creative plans” for him, yet he remains listed on the official AEW roster page.

Earlier this month, Danhausen published a video blog that included appearances from CM Punk, Ron Simmons, and JBL.
