Two former WWE stars reportedly rejected spots in 2022 Royal Rumble match

As previously noted, several names were announced for the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble match during the January 7th 2022 edition of WWE Smackdown.

According to Fightful.com, WWE reached out to former WWE stars The IIconics (now known as The IInspiration) about being part of the women’s Rumble match. However, the duo were said to have turned down the spots as they are apparently “happy with their current path.” Cassie Lee (formerly Peyton Royce) and Jess McKay (formerly Billie Kay) are the current Impact Wrestling Knockouts tag-team champions and reportedly feel that it isn’t the right time to make a WWE return of any capacity.

With less than a week to go until the event, 21 names have been confirmed for the women’s Rumble including Carmella, Dana Brooke, Nikki ASH, Queen Zelina, Rhea Ripley, Tamina, Aliyah, Charlotte Flair, Naomi, Natalya, Shayna Baszler, Shotzi, Brie Bella, Lita, Nikki Bella, Kelly Kelly, Michelle McCool, Mickie James, Summer Rae, Bianca Belair, and Liv Morgan.
