Trick Williams wins the TNA Wrestling world title from Joe Hendry at WWE NXT Battleground PLE

As seen during the 2025 WWE NXT Battleground PLE, Joe Hendry defeated the TNA world title against Trick Williams. Williams initially outmaneuvered Joe Hendry with taunts and evasion, but Hendry gained momentum with moves like a clothesline, leaping splash, and delayed vertical suplex. The two traded offense, with Trick landing a fallaway slam, uranage, and axe kick, while Hendry countered with European uppercuts, a super fallaway slam, and multiple near falls.

Despite Hendry’s resilience, including a spinebuster and Standing Ovation attempt, Trick capitalized on a distraction with the TNA title belt, raked Hendry’s eyes, and secured the victory with a flapjack onto the belt followed by a jumping knee for the three-count.
