The reason why audio was muted for a period of time during 2/17/23 edition of WWE Smackdown

As seen during the February 17th 2023 edition of WWE Smackdown, Sami Zayn cut a promo in his hometown of Montreal, Canada. Zayn had received a lengthy standing ovation from fans and numerous chants broke out.

Even though the unified WWE Universal champion Roman Reigns did not appear, there was a “fuck you Roman” chant which led to the audio being muted by FOX Network until it stopped. The audio was also muted when there was a “holy shit” chant during Bray Wyatt’s segment.
