The latest news regarding Mercedes Mone potentially having a match in AEW

AEW President Tony Khan recently commented on the company possibly working with Mercedes Mone (formerly Sasha Banks) and Saraya expressed interested in having a match against Mercedes at AEW All In.

In an update, Justin Barrasso of SI.com reported that “multiple sources close to Khan have confirmed that there were significant discussions” with Mercedes for a potential appearance with AEW. Fightful Select confirmed the Mercedes/AEW talks and stated that prior to her suffering an injury, AEW had inquired about the possibility of her appearing on an AEW show such as Forbidden Door. “Those with knowledge of the situation claim that AEW had spoken to NJPW — or those with ties to NJPW — in an effort to facilitate the appearance. However, we haven’t learned if any progress was made in that sense.”

Fightful added that before Mercedes suffered her injury, talent believed she would be working with AEW and there were rumors of her facing Saraya at Forbidden Door.
