Swerve Strickland issues a response to WWE star Grayson Waller’s shot at AEW

During an interview with Going Ringside last week, Grayson Waller talked about the upcoming WWE Smackdown event in Jacksonville, FL on May 17th 2024. Waller seemingly took a shot at AEW (Jacksonville is the company’s home base) with the following comments…

“Finally, some good wrestling in Jacksonville. I feel like it’s been years since we’ve seen some really good wrestling in Jacksonville. That’s what we’re bringing back.”

Going Ringside interviewed new AEW World Heavyweight Champion Swerve Strickland this week and asked him about Waller’s shot. Here was Swerve’s response…

“Obviously [a dig at AEW]. I love the subtleties. This person [Waller] that said that, congratulations on their championship gold. Amazing. You were awesome when you were watching me in the seats when I was being a champion over where you were as well. Happy to see where you progressed to, but let’s be real, we are the best wrestling. Not just in Jacksonville but anywhere on the globe. In the world. I stand on business on that.”
