Speculation about when Eddie Kingston could potentially make his return to AEW

AEW star Eddie Kingston has been out of action due to a leg injury that required surgery and he later noted that he has been dealing with stomach issues.

While PWInsider.com reported that Eddie could return in the summer, there is speculation about Eddie potentially showing up at Double or Nothing to help Swerve Strickland’s team in the Anarchy in the Arena match. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following…

“Gabe Kidd showing up could end up being the catalyst for that as it would make sense since Kingston was injured when he was suplexed onto the barricade by Kidd and his leg was destroyed by the barricade so it’s a natural spot for a return. We’ve heard nothing in that direction as it would be something they’d keep quiet if it was happening, but it does make sense and unless there was a delay, Kingston’s return should be soon.”

However, Mike Johnson of PWInsider received a statement from Eddie that has seemingly shut down the idea of an imminent comeback…

“I am not there. I have started running in the ring. I am still doing physical therapy and I am mentally better. Yet again, as people know, it’s a struggle, but being able to be in the ring again and work out with PT and working out with Cezar [Bononi] is helping my mental health, let alone my body. I can finally feel the ball is moving in the right direction.”
