As seen at the WWE Wrestlemania 38 PLE, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin came out of retirement to have a match against Kevin Owens. It’s now believed that Owens made an attempt to have a match against another retired Hall of Famer.
According to Fightful Select, Owens approached Shawn Michaels while visiting NXT back in October. Owens reportedly pitched having a match against Michaels and brought up how he wanted to say he wrestled his two all-time favorites. Fightful also noted the following…
“Michaels told Owens that he’d be lying if he didn’t think about doing another match, especially when he saw the kind of match that Steve Austin had with Kevin Owens at Wrestlemania this year. However, he also said that he doesn’t think he should.”
Michaels came out of retirement at the 2018 Crown Jewel PLE and it’s rumored that he made as much as $3 million dollars for the one match.
