Rumor killer regarding the finish of John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar at WWE Wrestlepalooza

As seen during the 2025 WWE Wrestlepalooza, John Cena lost decisively to Brock Lesnar. There was a rumor going around that Cena was scheduled to defeat Lesnar at the event but plans were changed at the last minute. However, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following…

“We were told that was not the case, and that Lesnar was not brought back to lose his first match. There are always discussions and the idea may have been broached for Cena to win, as most expected, but it was never a serious discussion or ever the planned finish.”

Meltzer added that while Cena was fine with losing for business reasons, he did not change a planned finish by insisting on Lesnar winning. As reported earlier this week, a rematch between Cena and Lesnar is not expected to happen.
