Rumor killer regarding Ricky Starks’ status with AEW following tag team title loss
Ricky Starks has not wrestled in AEW since him and Big Bill lost the tag team titles to Sting and Darby Allin on the February 7th 2024 edition of Dynamite. Fightful Select noted the following in regards to internet speculation about Starks’ status with AEW…
“On March 2, unfounded internet rumors emerged claiming that Ricky Starks was a free agent and his AEW deal was up. Fightful asked around within AEW and were told that would be news to them, and also confirmed with those close to Starks that his contract is not up.”
At this time, there is no word regarding when Starks’ contract with AEW expires. It was announced by AEW President Tony Khan that Starks had signed with the company shortly after his match against Cody Rhodes on the June 17th 2020 edition of Dynamite.
Thank you @starkmanjones for a great effort tonight. While he didn’t win the open challenge & the TNT Title, he opened a lot of eyes on #AEWDynamite. Thank you @CodyRhodes & Arn for nominating a great challenger; I was glad to sanction the match. Now: congrats Ricky you earned it pic.twitter.com/K9dTVRlv1I
