Roman Reigns pulled from WWE live event in Tampa, FL

As previously noted, several WWE stars and staff have reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 just days before the company’s post-Christmas holiday tour.

After it was announced Seth Rollins was pulled from Sunday’s RAW event at Madison Square Garden in New York City, news broke that WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns was not at the Smackdown crew’s event in Tampa, FL. It was originally scheduled to be Roman Reigns and The Usos against Drew McIntyre and the New Day.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com wrote that it’s “not a good sign” and noted the following about changes for both shows…

“Rollins is off MSG testing positive for COVID. Reigns off Tampa. McIntyre & Sheamus vs. Usos is the new Tampa main event. Edge did arrive in NY and it’s Edge vs [Kevin] Owens in a cage match as MSG main. Not sure on Big E why he wouldn’t be in the main event. But they did announce some stars aren’t appearing due to COVID. Big E and both [Becky] Lynch and [Bianca] Belair in New York also off the shows tonight. Lynch would make sense given Rollins tested positive. Belair is married to [Montez] Ford who has been out for weeks.”

Meltzer then tweeted the following…

“Just a note that not everyone off tonight’s WWE shows tested positive. There are people being kept off the shows who haven’t tested positive to minimize risk so the PPV headliners are at less risk of having to miss the event [WWE Day 1 PPV] on Saturday.”
