Road Dogg and William Regal reportedly released from WWE NXT as part of ‘shake up’

During Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com discussed another round of cuts in WWE…

“WWE is on another firing spree. You’ll hear more about it soon. At this moment I know that people are getting fired in NXT.”

“It appears to be mostly office by the way, at this point. This could change but right now it seems to be office people.” (quotes courtesy of WrestlingNews.co)

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com wrote the following on Twitter regarding the cuts…

“Fightful has learned Road Dogg is among a series of personnel cuts in NXT.

WWE issued Fightful a statement saying ‘With the continued evolution of NXT 2.0, we’ve decided to part ways with some of the staff based in our Performance Center. We thank them for their many contributions throughout the years and wish them the best.'”

“WWE have confirmed producer Road Dogg, coach Ace Steel and writer Ryan Katz are all gone from NXT.”

Sapp also confirmed that longtime commissioner William Regal is also gone from NXT as well as Dave Kapoor aka the former Ranjin Singh and Scott Armstrong.

It’s being said that Producers, coaches, and writers are among the people being let go. Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast wrote that “this is more of a ‘shake up’ to fit the current direction of NXT.”

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com is reporting that Sarah Cummins, Senior VP of Consumer Products at WWE was among the cuts.
