Ricochet wins the Intercontinental Title on WWE Smackdown

In the opening match of the March 4th 2022 edition of WWE Smackdown, Ricochet defeated Sami Zayn to win the Intercontinental Title for the first time. Johnny Knoxville came down to the ring during the match and distracted Zayn which led to Ricochet taking advantage and picking up the win. After the match, Zayn challenged Knoxville to a match at Wrestlemania 38.

It was recently reported that WWE was looking to give Ricochet a renewed push.
