Rey Fenix defeats Jon Moxley to win the AEW International title following awkward moment
During the September 20th 2023 “Grand Slam” edition of AEW Dynamite, Jon Moxley defended the AEW International title against Rey Fenix. Something went wrong at the end of the match as when Fenix delivered a piledriver, the referee stopped the count before hitting three. It appeared that Moxley was supposed to kick out but didn’t. Fenix then hit another piledriver and won the title.
Scary scenes here.
I'm not sure if Jon Moxley was physically able to kick out of that fireman's carry piledriver from Rey Fenix.
I hope he's okay 😒.#AEWGrandSlam pic.twitter.com/ANvvLKFbWx

The referee was seen checking on Moxley after the match. In what was considered to be good news, Moxley was able to leave the ring under his own power. According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, the belief backstage is that Moxley may have suffered a concussion.
