Results of Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn from WWE Elimination Chamber 2023

Roman Reigns (c) vs. Sami Zayn for the unified WWE Universal title took place at WWE Elimination Chamber 2023. Here are the highlights…

* The crowd chanted “f*ck you Roman” over his entrance music. Zayn got a massive reaction from his hometown fans with the fans singing his theme song and the “OLE!” song. Reigns taunted Zayn’s wife at ringside with the titles.

* Reigns and Zayn spent about four minutes milking the crowd reactions before they finally locked up.

* Reigns got the early upper hand but Zayn was able to send Reigns out of the ring and then hit a dive. Back in the ring, Zayn hit Reigns with numerous punches in the corner. Reigns finally regained control with an uppercut. Reigns worked over Zayn and yelled at Zayn’s wife. Zayn started to make a comeback and kissed his wife. Zayn hit a sunset flip powerbomb but Reigns kicked out.

* Zayn went for the helluva kick but Reigns countered with a superman punch. Zayn avoided a spear and rolled up Reigns but Reigns kicked out. Zayn hit Reigns with a superman punch followed by a helluva kick but Reigns kicked out. Reigns escaped to the outside and was able to stop Zayn’s momentum. Reigns went for a spear but Zayn moved and Reigns crashed through the barricade.

* Back in the ring, Zayn hit the blue thunder bomb but Reigns kicked out yet again. The ref ended up getting hit by accident in the corner. Zayn hit the helluva kick but the referee was down. Jimmy Uso arrived and hit Zayn with several superkicks. Jimmy hit the Uso splash and put Reigns on top of Zayn. Another referee ran down but Zayn kicked out.

* Zayn hit Jimmy with a Helluva kick. Reigns took advantage and hit a spear on Zayn but Zayn kicked out. Reigns started trash talking but Zayn slapped Reigns. Reigns accidentally hit the 2nd referee with a superman punch.

* Heyman gave a chair to Reigns. At this point, Jey Uso showed up to seemingly stop Reigns. Reigns said it’s either him or Zayn and handed the steel chair to Jey. Jey didn’t use the chair and Zayn went to spear Reigns but accidentally hit Jey. Reigns hit Zayn with the spear and retained the title.

* After the match, Jimmy attacked Zayn but Kevin Owens came down to make the save. Owens ended up hitting stunners to Reigns and Jimmy. Owens then gave Jimmy a popup powerbomb through the table. Heyman tried to attack Owens and the crowd chanted “you f*cked up” at him. Heyman ended up getting hit with a stunner. Zayn laid out Reigns with a helluva kick and his music played.
