Results of Jon Moxley vs. CM Punk at AEW All Out 2022

Jon Moxley (c) vs. CM Punk for the AEW world title took place at AEW All Out 2022. Here are the highlights…

* CM Punk was largely cheered by his Chicago fans and Moxley received a mixed reaction. Punk stuck his leg out to taunt Moxley and Moxley responded with middle fingers.

* Punk built up early momentum and hit the GTS but Moxley kicked out. Moxley went to the outside and Punk hit a dive. The two started brawling in the stands. They fought by the ringside area and then Punk was busted open after being sent into the ring post.

* Moxley targeted Punk’s wound and then licked the blood. A Moxley chant was drowned out by boos as Moxley continued to work over Punk. Punk tried to fight back but collapsed. Moxley applied a submission and Punk desperately went for the eyes to break the hold.

* Punk flipped off Moxley in defiance. Moxley hit Punk with a piledriver but Punk kicked out. Punk recovered and applied the anaconda vice. Punk went for the top rope flying elbow but Moxley countered with the bulldog choke. Moxley transitioned to an ankle lock but Punk got to the rope.

* The two traded blows and then Moxley hit the death rider but Punk kicked out. Punk was able to hit a GTS but he couldn’t make the cover. Punk mustered the strength to lift up Moxley again hit a 2nd GTS to score the victory. Punk was crowned the AEW world champion for the 2nd time.

* After the match ended, the lights went out and a voicemail played from Tony Khan with a “final offer” to appear at All Out. The masked man – “the devil himself” – was revealed as MJF. MJF appeared on the stage. The fans chanted his name but he flipped them off as the show went off the air.
