Chris Jericho and Adam Cole in an unsanctioned match took place at AEW Double or Nothing 2023. Here are the highlights…
* Sabu was the “special enforcer” for the match. Jericho had the JAS but Cole, Sabu, and Roderick Strong had steel chairs. Sabu and Jericho swung chairs at each other and Sabu got the best of Jericho. Sabu then jumped off the top rope and put Matt Minard through a table. The ringside area eventually cleared out and it was just Jericho vs. Cole.
#SABU didn't waste any time getting involved in this unsanctioned match!

* Jericho took control of the match when he suplexed Cole from the apron to the floor. Jericho applied the liontamer and Cole got to the rope but there was no break because of the stipulation. Cole managed to grab a fire extinguisher from under the ring and used it on Jericho. Jericho came back with a codebreaker but Cole kicked out. Jericho then used the fire extinguisher on Cole.
* Britt Baker ran down and attacked Jericho with a kendo stick. Saraya tried to help Jericho but Britt chased her to the backstage area.

* A chain was introduced into the match and they ended up linked together. Cole delivered the boom shot but didn’t go for the cover. Cole wrapped the chain around his knee and delivered another boom shoot. Cole punched Jericho with the chain repeatedly until the referee stopped the match since Jericho could no longer defend himself. The crowd reaction sounded flat for the finish.
