Results of Cameron Grimes vs. Carmelo Hayes at WWE NXT In Your House 2022

Cameron Grimes (c) vs. Carmelo Hayes (with Trick Williams) for the NXT North American title took place at WWE NXT In Your House 2022. Here are the highlights…

* Grimes arrived “back from the moon” for his entrance at the stage.

* The two had a feeling out process in the early moments and exchanged pin attempts.

* The two ended up on the outside and Hayes hit a DDT on the apron. They got back in the ring and Carmelo was in firm control of the match at this point. Hayes distracted the referee and Williams tied Grimes to the rope. Hayes got shots in on Grimes and then worked over the arm.

* Grimes started to make a comeback but then Williams grabbed at his foot. Grimes recovered and hit Hayes with a reverse springboard Spanish fly which led to a “holy shit” chant from the crowd.

* The match went back and forth with both coming close to winning. Grimes hit a poisonrana on Hayes that sent Hayes to the outside. Grimes came over the top with a dive to both Hayes and Williams. Grimes tried to get back in the ring but Williams grabbed at him again. Grimes hit the cave-in on Williams but Hayes was able to take advantage. Hayes came off the top with a leg drop and scored the pinfall to become the new champion.
