Bryan Danielson vs. Kazuchika Okada took place at AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door 2023. Here are the highlights…

* Danielson made his entrance to Europe’s The Final Countdown which was his pre-WWE theme song. Okada had money coming down from the ceiling for his entrance. The crowd started “holy shit” and “this is awesome” chants when the bell rang.

* The two exchanged holds on the mat as the crowd chanted “you’re going to get your f*cking head kicked in” and “yes!” The two went outside and Bryan was sent into the barricade and then sent over into the fans. Bryan recovered and sent Okada arm-first into the ring post. Bryan continued to work over the arm back in the ring and the crowd chanted for Okada.

* Okada built up some momentum and came over the barricade with a crossbody to Bryan in the crowd. Back in the ring, Okada continued his offense on Bryan but Bryan fought back and the two exchanged shots.

* The two ended up on the outside again and Okada delivered a tombstone piledriver to Bryan on the ramp. Okada got Bryan back in the ring and delivered a flying elbow. Okada was going to hit the rainmaker but Bryan was convulsing and the trainer checked on Bryan. However, Bryan was feigning his condition and took Okada down with the running knee. Bryan hit another one but Okada kicked out.

* After several attempts, Okada finally hit the rainmaker lariat but Bryan kicked out. Bryan applied an arm submission and was able to tap out Okada.
