Report: WWE planning to move CM Punk from RAW to SmackDown

As seen during WWE WrestleMania 42 Sunday, Roman Reigns defeated CM Punk to become the new world heavyweight champion. Punk has not appeared on WWE television since the night after WrestleMania.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, he was told that Punk was taken off television because there were no creative plans for him at the time. Meltzer added that Punk was expected to return once his next storyline was ready to begin.

Meltzer also noted the following…

“The plan right now is for him to return on Smackdown, which is basically a balancing act. The belief is with Raw having [Roman] Reigns, [Seth] Rollins, The Usos, [Jacob] Fatu, [Oba] Femi, Logan Paul and [Bron] Breakker that Punk made more sense on Smackdown with a top tier of [Cody] Rhodes, Gunther, [Rhea] Ripley and soon to be Punk, [Randy] Orton and [Drew] McIntyre. Plus Rhodes vs. Punk has been a direction.”
